7th Asian film fest opens at Y.B. Chavan Centre in south Mumbai


Asian Film Festival' s seventh edition will be opened with the Chinese film " Tuya' s Marriage" on 16th October. And Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Honorable Shri. Vilasrao Deshmukh has been consented to be the chief guest for the inaugural function. The inaugural function will be held at Y. B Chavan Ventre in south Mumbai today.

The Asian Film Festival this year presenting the Asian Film Culture Award to Vetren Korean Director Park Swang -Su for his outstanding contribution to cinema. He will be felicitated at the inaugural function. National Film Archive's former director and veteran P.K .Nair will be honored with presenting the " Satyajit Ray Memorial Award' in the inaugural function of the Asian Film Festival.
Honorable Shri. Kiran Shantaram is the chairman of the 7th Asian Film Fest. Enjoy Films from China, Korea, Iran and other Asian Countries supported by Govt. of Maharashtra. The Venues for screening will be Plaza Theatre, Chavan Centre and Fun Republikc from 17th to 23rd, 2008
